First Settled in 1812 by Samuel Tanner, Spencer is home to many historic attractions, some of which are included in the National Registry of Historical Places, such as the Robey Theater, the longest continuously operating theater in America. Looking for recreation? Charles Fork Lake - site of the annual Tour de Lake bike race - features boating, fishing, hiking, and bike trails. Spencer is also home to the WV Black Walnut Festival, held annually each October. |
